Fruity White Sangria

Fruity White Sangria

fruity white sangria recipeSummer is the time for sangria. I love sipping this fruity white sangria on a hot summer day with the grill going and friends over. In fact, we’re having friends over tomorrow so I’m making this today.

This recipe is very easy to make and is guaranteed to be a hit at your next barbecue or outdoor gathering. Just remember, it does contain a fair amount of alcohol so use caution if you have to drive afterwards. And be sure to keep the kids out of it. It might look like juice, but believe me you don’t want your 5 year old getting into this.

Sangria originates in Spain and is typically made with red wine, fruit, soda water and sometimes brandy. Although, various areas in Spain produce white sangria’s or Sangria Blanco now.

Instructions
  1. Slice the apples and pears into thin slices and set aside.
  2. Pour the wine and vodka into your container.
  3. Add the sliced fruit.
  4. Add the white grape juice to taste. If you like your sangria a little stronger tasting, use less. If you prefer to not taste the alcohol, add more juice.
  5. Mix well and chill in the refrigerator overnight.
Recipe Notes

Use a good white wine for this. Stay away from brands like Barefoot and Yellowtail if you want a great sangria.

Make this the day before to let all the flavors mix well in the fridge overnight.

Welch's makes some great white grape juices with no sugar added. Any juice will work, but I've found the white grape to really compliment the other flavors without drowning them out. Experiment with others such as white cranberry.
